A Call to Worship Through Giving

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
Matthew 13:45–46

This morning (5th October), as we gathered in worship, we were reminded that Jesus is our all in all—the treasure of greatest worth. Like the merchant in Jesus’ parable, we too are invited into a life of joyful surrender. We give because we’ve first received the greatest gift in Christ. Our worship leads us to generosity.

At Jubilee, we see tithing as the bibles starting point—a way into the joyful generosity of the kingdom. We believe that investing in God’s Kingdom is not only a spiritual act but also the wisest investment we can make with our resources.

This October, we are inviting everyone in our church family to give into two key areas where we sense God leading us:

1. His Kingdom Local

Over the past three years, we’ve seen a slow but steady decline in regular giving. Even after taking cost-saving steps this summer, we’re still forecasting a shortfall of around £20,000 for the year.

Jubilee exists to help people encounter Jesus and respond to His love. Your giving will ensure we can continue all the ministry and mission already planned—from Sunday gatherings to kids’ work, community outreach, and more. Any surplus will go towards expanding our reach and impact locally.

2. His Kingdom Global

We’re also called to support and strengthen the global Church. This Gift Day, we’re focusing on two key partnerships:

  • Kjiv Church Resource Centre – Supporting ongoing costs as they equip churches and leaders.
  • Dayspring Church, Zambia – Helping rebuild after a devastating fire earlier this year.

Giving here helps meet urgent needs and deepens our relational links with these churches, reminding us that the Kingdom of God stretches far beyond our postcode.

How to Give

We invite everyone to prayerfully consider what you can give this Gift Day. If you give online, please use the reference: giftday.

Let’s give generously, joyfully, and expectantly—because the Kingdom is worth everything.
