Why are we going to the villages?
This question needs to be answered balancing two important inputs, which over time built together convinced us that it was God’s will for us to attempt to set up these local communities in the surrounding villages. These two inputs include 1) a Godly conviction by local Elders, and 2) prophetic insight.
1) Godly conviction felt by Jubilee Elders
– The great commission applies to us and we should seek to apply it in today’s culture
– We would better disciple believers and reach local people by setting up smaller local communities rather than staying as one large community based in East Grinstead
– That the goal is not to entertain believers but to prepare them for works of service and ultimately Christ.
2) Prophetic insights
Coming out of Covid, in 2022 we were aware that re-building church life had caused us to become inward looking, and it was time to refocus the church on spreading the gospel. However, other than going back to previous activities, there was a sense that we were lacking vision and would struggle to move forward without fresh input from God. This started our earnest prayers for God’s voice to direct us and speak afresh.
