Christians Against Poverty (CAP)
CAP aim to eliminate UK poverty by supporting people in debt, researching causes, and advising decision-makers on changes to break the poverty cycle.
We provide families with both emotional and practical support. Through CAP, we help negotiate with creditors and create budgets that prioritize essential living costs.
Jubilee Community Church partnered with CAP in 2022 to offer free, face-to-face debt counselling and money coaching workshops. These workshops teach practical budgeting skills and a simple, effective money management system.
Our dedicated local debt coaches, supported by a team of volunteer befrienders from the church, offer guidance and encouragement to help clients on their journey out of debt.
Uganda Water Project
In 2016 International Needs Uganda began a pilot programme in Buikwe to support families with water, sanitation and hygiene initiatives.
They began a project to improve the health and quality of life of people in selected villages in the area around Lake Victoria. They also continue to provide basic support for these villages. In 2018, a group from Jubilee Community Church raisied money for fresh water and sanitation in the village of Kizigo. They helped construct Tippy Taps, visited schools and churches, and took part in sport with the local Boda Boda boys. They assisted in assembling wheelchairs that arrived in flat packs and aided in their distribution.
Individuals from the group joined their sponsorship programme which enables children to receive nutritious school meals, emergency health care and educational resources.
