William Carey Speaks (June 2023).
During a two day prayer retreat I picked a book off the shelf at West Watch to read. It was the biography of William Carey and I felt drawn to his story. Unknown to me, he too was so stirred by Isaiah 54 that he preached the ‘deathless preach’, sparking a fresh wave of missionaries to the nations. It was William who said that we are to 1) Expect great things from God, and 2) Attempt great things for God. As I read this I believe God added in my heart ‘See great things from God’. It is from this time that we say “We first must see great things in God, causing us to expect great things from God, propelling us to attempt great things for God.”
