But you shall receive POWER when the HOLY SPIRIT comes upon You

Acts 1:8

Our prayers of faith are breaking down walls of resistance against the gospel and the Kingdom of God far and near.  Thank you for praying…Hallelujah!

Our next week of prayer starts in 1 week from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th January.  Our focus for this time is found in Acts 1:8 and Zechariah 4:6-7, building on from the September week of prayer.  Oh! how we need more of the Holy Spirit with each passing day!

Our hearts cry for these precious prayer times is to get to know God better, together, by spending time with Him and with one another in faith for the things that He has for us as a Church. The early Church in Acts 2:42 devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer and God added to their number daily.

As we continue to commit to do these things, we will also grow and multiply and fulfil our God given vision and purpose.

There is a contention in the spirit for the souls of others, but by the power of the Holy Spirit through persistent prayer, in accordance with God’s will, our victory is guaranteed. We will see divine transfers of men and women from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light with shouts of Grace, grace to it!

We expect to receive answers, see good works accomplished, and the kingdom of God breakthrough as we pray continually in the week of prayer.  It is also important to remember that our times and seasons are in the hands of God.  In the preceding verses to our theme scripture Acts 1:8, Jesus’s disciples ask Him a question about when He would restore the Kingdom to Israel and He answered them and said that it was not for them to know the times or seasons that the Father has put in His own authority.  But that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. Our commitment is to position ourselves to receive Power to be witnesses to Jesus in our Jerusalem, in all Judea and to the end of the earth. We are not to be anxious about when it will all come together.  I find this quite freeing.  As we fix our gaze on God to seek His face, and our lives are transformed, there will be fruit in the areas we desire to see fruit, and more. (2 Peter 1:3-4, 2 Corin 3:18)

One of our heroes of faith, Oswald Chambers taught that “Prayer does not fit us for the greater work; prayer is the greater work” Let’s watch God do the rest.

We call on you as sons and daughters of God, to defy the cold and push through for an exciting week of prayer and fasting.

Blessings
