At the turn of this year, we spent time catching up with good friends. Not once, but twice, I was struck by the fact the husbands told me they had been praying with their wife for the new year ahead. I felt a conviction to get before God with Abi….and pray! What would God say to us? What should our focus be this year?
After a couple of short prayers, I felt the Holy Spirit drop the words ‘Step Up’ into my heart. Last term I had personally taken a step back from leading the worship team, allowing space for others to step in. This new prompting was different though.
As we continued praying, I felt a boldness rise in me to take hold of this word for this season. This will be an adventure which starts by saying YES to God!
In a year of leadership transition at JCC, we each have an opportunity to step up with others who are obediently following the call of God on their lives. So, as we approach 40 Days of Devotion, I challenge you to Step Up and say YES to God!
John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
