Day 28 of 40 days of devotion

Written by Pete Cowley

I decided to share a verse a day on Facebook during 40 days of devotion.

This encouraged me to dig into the bible for personal reflection, share scriptures from personal times with God, devotional time with our daughters and whatever I felt the Holy Spirit say through each day.

It’s been fun to talk about the meaning of verses I’ve shared. The first question came right on Day 1, as I had to explain what making disciples of nations meant to someone at my work.

These verses have brought strength and comfort to myself and others. This was made real when a colleague passed away from cancer recently. I was able to share a verse which had brought me strength and comfort.

I forgot to share a verse on a couple of days. Does this mean I failed? No! I remind myself of the grace of God which my life is built on now. Thank you Jesus!

Eph 2:8-9 “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”
