“Giving is God’s way of raising children not raising funds” – generosity value

Here is some information from the last gift day we took in May. As a local church we took £55,000. This was then separated into two main gifts.

Update from the last gift day.

  • Ukraine support

Jubilee gave £36,761 to be stewarded by Victor and Polina, who are New Frontiers Church pastors on the ground in Kyiv. They used the money in 3 keyways 1) Food and provision; 4500 meals and 3400 food parcels 2) Medicine and aid; over 200 prescriptions 3) A minivan; transporting people and provision.

  • Cost of Living Kingdom response

During a time of worship, we considered the fear and pressure many are under as costs spiral, and felt a wave of compassion flow over us, leading to this thought; there must be a ‘Kingdom response’. So, we took over £17,000 which was divided up into 35, seven-month support packages, in the form of monthly Aldi food/shopping vouchers & the offer of a free coffee and cake with a JCC member. Behind each of these packages is a person or family in our community who we have sought to show our support and love towards.

For this and more, we remain thankful to God. What a joy it is to be part of a generous Church..!

Where are we giving into this October?

Our gift days are designed to flow into the mission of Jubilee Community Church. This time we have highlighted 3 key areas of focus.

  • Rising costs – Like your personal cost rises at this time, Jubilee is finding its own increases. The electricity bill alone at JCC went up over £30,000 this year.
  • Nations – Jubilee is committed to the care and support of Pete and Sarah Benton who are planting a Church in Berlin. We plan to continue this support through 2023, and this gift day will help towards this.
  • New Ground – We plan to give 20% of the gift this autumn to our network, New Ground. The work they do in advancing the gospel is invaluable, and we will hear more about it during New Ground Sunday on the 6th November.

We hope you will join us this autumn as we give together.
