Bible Text: Mark 8:31-38 |

Series:

Jesus invites you today: “Come and be my Disciple”

Mark 8;31-38, Galatians 2:20, Matt 16:21-28, Luke 9:22-27

The invitation today is simple and clear. And it’s for ALL: Not to be  regular church attenders, not to be bystanders, not to be part of the crowd

but growing, maturing disciples, living like Jesus, knowing the love and the mind of the father and being about the fathers business, kingdom business.

Peter was in a humble place. Are you?

Is Jesus your Lord and Saviour?

Discipleship is sitting at the feet of Jesus, hearing him, learning from Him and following in His steps. What did Jesus do?  It is embarking on a lifelong journey of allowing His identity to shape ours.

It takes discipline and determination to be a disciple.

We have the Holy Spirit and the grace of God to help

But there is a cost: self denial and bearing your cross.

Go on adventures with Jesus and see the thrills and joys of being His disciple.

Come on, Join in the excitement of living supernaturally!!!

Questions for discussion and meditation

  • How easily do you acknowledge your faults? What are you ashamed of?
  • What kind of Messiah have you made Jesus up to be?
  • Am I a disciple (follower) of Jesus? How do I know? How would I know?
