Sparklers is our 0-4yr olds Sunday morning ministry. The children have lots of opportunity for free play and can be creative through art and ‘messy’ play. We provide age-appropriate Bible teaching and worship which is lively and interactive. Juice and biscuits are provided during the morning and every month there is a family booklet with further activities for the child to do and application ideas for the parents. Sparklers is located upstairs in the Zambezi Room on a Sunday morning.
“God is pouring out His Spirit amongst our children in JCC and here in Sparklers we want to see young children meeting with God and their hearts being excited by Him. We want to support families in their own adventures in God with these little ones, and in turn see them impacting the community we live in.”
Little Stars is our very popular parent and toddlers group held in the Jordan Hall on Monday mornings between 10am and 11:30am, costing £1.50 per child. The hall is set up with various activities and crafts for the children to play with. There is a coffee and tea section with areas for mums/dads/carers to sit down, relax and meet new people. We often have relevant community groups, agencies and businesses visiting including our local Health Visitors and once every half term we host a Little Stars lunch.
Blaze is for Primary School aged children ( years R-6). It is an action packed, bible based, front-led programme, including worship, games, crafts and drama. We teach from the Urban Saints curriculum called Energise. The children are all together for their worship time at the beginning of the morning and split into two age groups for their teaching, Green Blaze (years R-2) and Blue Blaze (years 3-6).
There are monthly years 5&6 socials that the children are encouraged to bring their friends to. We also have 2 half term ‘Fun Days’ for both Blaze children and those from the local community, as well as family socials throughout the year.
Glo is the youth ministry of Jubilee Community Church and seeks to provide a safe and fun environment for young people to grow in their walk with God and enjoy time together.
Glo runs various different events throughout the school term and in the holidays; some are open to all secondary aged children and some are more specifically aimed at either Ignite (school years 7-9) or Encounter (school years 10-13). Due to team, resources and the safety of the young people we ask that you please respect our age limits. For more information and precise details please pick up a termly pamphlet from JCC.
We welcome all children and young people at JCC, if your child has specific needs we would love to work with you to ensure that they can participate and enjoy all our family ministries. Please click here for more details, from our inclusion page.
GLO (school years 7-13):
Glo Plus: Glo plus evenings (for school years 7-13) begin with sports, crazy games, craft and hanging out together followed by dynamic worship, great teaching, discussion and response. The group focuses on developing great friendships and supporting one another as we live life for God by providing a small group type setting for the young people.
Glo Celebrations: Glo Celebration evenings (for school years 7-13) are generally held on the final Friday of each half term. The evening kicks off with pizza and chill before getting stuck into a chunk of dynamic worship, bible teaching, prayer and lots of fun. This usually takes place between 7pm and 9pm at Jubilee Community Centre.
Glo Specials: Each term Glo hosts an altogether Special (for school years 7-13);
- At Christmas we put on a day trip usually by train to London/Brighton, with various fun team activities and a visit to a lively Christmas church service.
- At Easter we have a week’s residential trip in the UK, this is a fun Glo family time, with active team activities, lots of worship, relevant teaching and a massive amount of banter!
- During the summer we head off to Norfolk for Newday. Newday is one of the largest Christian events for young people that takes place in the UK every year. Young people join together from churches up and down the UK and Europe to learn about and worship God, camp out together, soak in the summer festival feeling, leaving Newday further along in their relationship with Jesus.
IGNITE (school years 7-9)
Sunday Ignite takes place on a Sunday morning during both church services. The young people receive fun, relevant bible-based teaching and play team games.
ENCOUNTER (school years 10-13)
Occasionally we will host events aimed just at our older youth – look out for them in our termly pamphlets available from JCC.
We welcome all children and young people at JCC, if your child has specific needs we would love to work with you to ensure that they can participate and enjoy all our family ministries. Please click on the Inclusion tab for more details.
0 – 18s Database
As a church we store a secure 0-18s database which contains information such as names, contact details, emergency contacts, consent and medical information for all our youth and kids work. The database enables us to provide a smooth transition of relevant data from one ministry to the next, make corresponding with programmes and upcoming events easier, reduce the need for multiple consent forms and keep all records together in one place making them easy to access in an emergency.
Therefore we ask that all parents accessing our 0-18s ministries on more than 3 occasions per term complete a JCC 0-18s Contact, Consent and Medical form. We will send out new forms each year to remind you to update information but should any details change please let our 0-18s Coordinator, Kat, know (firstname.lastname@example.org).
For offsite events (or specials) we still need to be aware that parents know that their children are attending events therefore we ask that they sign a very simple slip for each event (containing only the date and a permission signature).
If you are a guest accessing our:
- 0-4s and Blaze ministries on a Sunday morning – you will be asked to complete a Guest book as you arrive.
- Blaze Fundays – you will be provided with a consent form.
- Glo events – then please complete and bring along this guest form.
We hope you understand the need for this information and trust that it is in safe hands. We will not share it with anyone other than the Ministry Leaders and team involved in your child’s care (when needed).
