Go, make disciples May 1st – 5th 2014
Last week (May 1-5), Steve Alliston, Rochelle and Laurence Evans went to Romania, first to the NewGround conference in Brasov with 500 people from Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and UK, then to serve Ioan Ianchis’ churches in Cluj and Jibou. We arrived in Brasov feeling under-prepared for conference workshops on Thursday and Friday that Steve Alliston was running called producing supernatural disciples. I felt my confidence draining.
Then the Lord gave me a scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (MSG) “May Jesus himself and God our Father, who reached out in love and surprised you with gifts of unending help and confidence, put a fresh heart in you, invigorate your work, enliven your speech.” Confidence in God returned.
We met Maria who Rochelle and Steve had prayed for a year before. She has been healed of glaucoma in her left eye, her improved vision certified by an optometrist and now needs only reading glasses. Following prayer, Maria’s prolapsed internal organs were pulled up by God in the middle of the night and a year on she looked like a younger woman. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dOgxv3PxPs&feature=youtu.be
Steve prayed for Romulus who had 2 surgeries on his lower back for disk hernia. He was healed, had no pain and can now touch his toes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVJb1_HZCeM&feature=youtu.be
Romulus’ twin brother Remus was healed of asthma today and the pain gone in his liver
Cornelia was healed of a longstanding bladder condition
Rochelle and Steve prayed for a nurse that had been attacked by a psychiatric patient. She was sore from her thigh down but her knee was particularly bad. As they prayed for her knee, it began to shake so much they had to take their hands off. Her knee was healed
Richard Bailey from Crawley put his hand on a man’s arm to receive the Spirit and the man turned to him and said – thanks for healing my arm. It’s free now.
Laurence gave a practical demonstration on how to pray for the sick. In response to the question “Is anyone sick” he invited a volunteer Angela to come forward. Angela had asthma on her chest and a tight constriction around her throat and neck. When Laurence put his hand on her head and prayed, Angela fell down under the power of the Spirit. Laurence was left holding the microphone explaining the situation while Steve and Rochelle prayed over her. Angela began manifesting demonic coughs which we think was causing the tightness around her throat. We commanded the demons to go and her breathing relaxed and she received the joy of the Spirit.
We saw a number of instances where both healing and deliverance were needed. One lady Laurence prayed for had osteoarthritis, with pain and stiffness throughout her body. After prayer, she came into a measure of relief. She then confided that as a young girl, her mother had cursed her, saying ‘may the fires of hell burn in your bones’. He broke that curse in the name of Jesus and she was totally healed.
Not everyone we prayed for was healed but many were. We saw a measure of gifts of healings and prophecy imparted to Romania believers’ who prayed for others and saw God do wonders
We learned the key to spiritual gifts is to ask expectantly, receive by faith and give what you receive.
